PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MARRY

PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MARRY
By MEY Sopheakdei

In Cambodia, most families want their children to get married earlier ages. Actually, people under the age of 18 should not be allowed to marry because there are three reasons to prove that it is not good for their couple lives.
First of all, young couple do not have enough ability to take care of their own family after they got married because are still young and they do not custom themselves with social knowledge yet or partners’ lives yet. Moreover, they are young and easy to get angry when their partners act their bad behaviors and they will also be easy to be jealous because they do not have any social experiences or norm. In addition, they are lack of knowledge of controlling or running their family with happiness in their family or family’s life will be short or will be not well managed, and their thought is not deep enough to handle any problems when they encounter in their family. As we know family’s life is the most dangerous if we do not know how to manage or handle it.
Second, they are still young to go to school and get some more knowledge and skill. Actually, they do not have any life-skills in their lives because they stop or quit studying when they are so young. When they cannot attend school, they actually, do not have any specific knowledge to earn any income to survive their family with any kinds of jobs. When they have no any good job how can they support their family or when they have any children how can they support their children to go to school? How do they get any skills if they do not finish high school? Anyway, when they are in high school they could learn some basic skills at any training schools such computer repairing school or sawing center, but they are too young to know about the social needs are. They just want to be happy with their young age and they never think that skills will be able to help them when they have their own family because they can get profit from any kinds of skills or life-skills.
Finally, they are still young to accept their partner’s attitude easily. Building a family is not easy because there are many edges of problems and because they are from different family and different life-styles. The ways they live when they were with their parents are different from their new life-style with their new couple especially different ways of eating, sleeping and behaviors. When the new couple live together at first, it is a bit strange and they cannot accept or adjust it easily, but when they are old enough to marry, they will know about this aspect and then they will be able to adjust or custom themselves with new environment or with this social norm.
However, in my opinion getting married at the young age also have any good advantages because the new young couple can build their family and become rich when they are older. When they have enough strength and they are still young they can work with full energy to support their family. The family will be richer and richer when they work together since they are still young. They can have chance to have many things before they are getting older with their combination of their lives at the young age. Even though getting married at the young age is good, it still has a lot of disadvantages in their lives. According to some ideas as mentioned earlier, it is the best way to avoid getting married at the young age.
All in all, living with a person who we love is not easy when we are so young, so people under the age of 18 should not tends to marry because the marriage at the young age is not last forever. We can see its disadvantages such as they do not have ability, skills, and behavior adjustment. We should set up our goals clearly with our lives before we get married because it is the most important to avoid getting married at the young age, and you can know where you are going and where you are going to stop your goal and build a family (new couple life).
